Service Freight Systems turns 20, ships staff to Mexico to celebrate

by Truck News

BURLINGTON, Ont. — A fast-growing Ontario-based logistics company turned 20 recently, and to celebrate it shipped all its staff to Mexico for a long weekend beach vacation.

Service Freight Systems, which coordinates customized freight deliveries across North America, sent its 18 service team members on the trip, after coordinating with customers to ensure no deliveries would be missed.

“Our company is built around a ‘culture of care’ philosophy, and we wanted to do something extra special to show our employees how much they are appreciated,” said vice-president Rob Ten Brinke, a former social worker. “We truly care about our employees, who in turn truly care about our clients. One aspect of caring for our employees is recognizing that their family life is as important as their work life. If they need time to deal with issues at home, it’s never an issue here. We know that happy people produce great results, and that’s what has been driving growth in our business.”

The company says it will more than double its volumes over the next five years, with 70% of its business in the US.
