by Truck News

ST-GEORGES, Que. – Manac has announced it closed a deal to acquire aluminum flatdeck trailer manufacturer Alutrec.

Alutrec is based in Laurier-Station, Que.

“We are proud to announce this transaction. Alutrec has a great range of products in the aluminum platform segment which are complementary to those of Manac,” announced Charles Dutil, president and CEO of Manac. “The combination of Alutrec’s technical expertise in the aluminum flatbed market and Manac’s dominant position in the trailer industry will be a benefit to all of our business partners. Alutrec and Manac will work together to further develop the significant potential that Alutrec’s assets represent, whether it pertains to the strategic location of the Laurier-Station 200,000 sq.-ft. site, the experienced workforce which makes up the Alutrec team, or the innovative intellectual property that it owns. This transaction forms part of Manac’s planned strategic growth aimed at expanding our presence in the more specialized segments of the industry, as well as our efforts in innovation.”

Alutrec will continue to operate independently out of its Laurier Station location, while Manac will support it through component purchasing, manufacturing processes and marketing strategies.
