by Truck News

TORONTO, Ont. – The deadline to nominate this year’s Canadian Fleet Maintenance Manager of the Year is fast approaching and organizers are encouraging fleets across the country to nominate a maintenance manager that is worthy of the award.

The award, that has been around for 26 years, will been presented in conjunction with the Canadian Fleet Maintenance Summit that will take place on April 13.

This award is presented to a fleet maintenance manager in recognition of their outstanding performance and contribution to the heavy-duty trucking industry. The nominated individual is chosen based on criteria such as scheduled maintenance programs, in-house training initiatives and contributions to the industry and community in general. Those nominated must have their fleet located in Canada, they must have at least 25 Class 8 vehicles in their fleet and at least 80% of the fleet’s repairs must be done at its own facilities. Those nominated must also have a minimum of five years of fleet maintenance experience, three of which must be as a a full-time fleet maintenance manager, superintendent or director.

The award is presented by Volvo, though judging is done by an independent committee of past winners and trade professionals. Nomination deadline is March 4, 2016.
