Worried about wheel-offs? FSC seminar to help

by Truck News

CAMBRIDGE, Ont. — The Central chapter of the Ontario Fleet Safety Council will hold a seminar Jan. 12 examining wheel-offs and how to prevent them.

It’s a timely topic, given the recent spat of wheel separations in Ontario. Scott Parker of the OPP’s Highway Safety Division will be speaking about wheel separations, causation, incidents and prevention.

Dave MacDonald, CVSA instructor with Bridgestone Tire Solutions will also be on-hand to address changes and adoption of the National Safety Code in Ontario and how it affects various areas of the transportation industry. He’ll also share some myths about wheel separations.

The Fleet Safety Council is encouraging members to attend and to bring a guest. The organization is also inviting non-members to attend the free event, given the importance of the topic.

The doors open at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 12 at Grand Valley Golf Course in Cambridge, Ont., located at 1910 Roseville Road. For more information, contact Melanie Whittier at mwhittier@ihsa.ca.
